Shadows and Groundhogs (Jan30-Feb3)
Don’t forget your flashlights on February 2! Thursday will be all about SHADOWS and groundhogs. Will the groundhog see his shadow? Will spring be around the corner or is winter here to stay????
Also, Riverdale’s Mrs. Marshall will bring her class and small critters to share on Thursday, February 2 beginning around 9:00am… Don’t miss the fun.
Healthy Habits (Feb6-10)
We are learning all about healthy habits in February.
Dr. Simpson’s office will be here at school on Monday, February 6, beginning at 9:00am to talk all about dental health.
On Thursday, February 9, is “Bring a Vegetable and a Fruit Day”… We will make a rainbow pot of stew with our veggies and fruit salad with our different fruits… PLEASE don’t forget your ingredients, it is lunch!
Cindy Gough, of Vanderbilt’s Children Hospital, will be here on Friday, February 10, to teach our children basic first aid, CPR, and when and how to call for help.

Presidents and MONEY
As we learn all about Abe and George and different types of money, we will also learn to spend it…. Yippee.
Our Annual “Shop til you Drop Day” will be Thursday, February 23.
If you have McDonald’s toys or other small items to donate for the shopping day please drop off in the blue tub…. Items will not be returned!
Also remember to send your child to school with an envelope clearly marked with their name with a few pennies, dimes, nickels, and quarters (no bills please). We will offer a penny table, dime table, etc. so they learn the names and concepts of the different coins!
It will be tons of fun!
Dr. Seuss Week (Feb 27 – March2)
In celebration of Dr. Seuss’ Birthday we will party all week with our favorite Seuss books. If you have books at home you would like to share for the week, feel free to bring them in!
Wednesday, February 29 is LEAP DAY! We will talk all about LEAP YEAR and what it means…. WEAR YOUR LEAPING SHOES J
Thursday, March 1, we will have GREEN EGGS and HAM
Friday, March 2, wear Red and White it’s a birthday celebration!
Cotton Candy and Movie Fun will be had by all!!!!
THE LORAX MOVIE
Meet us at Carmike on Saturday, March 3, for the new Seuss movie “The Lorax”. We will pre-purchase tickets by Monday, February 27, if you are interested in joining us please turn in form and money by Friday February 24.

FUNDRAISER FUN!
It’s time to sell those wonderful Nashville coupon books…. Every five (5) you sell you receive one (1) free… Books cost $20.00 and the school receives $10.00 for every book sold. Ask the office or your child’s teacher about selling them today… Money due by February 24.
